Hi Barb, I like where you are going..now you need to explain a bit more and add some samples images..:)

I'm trying to figure out how to add sample images.

ok, the only thing I can think of at the moment is this contest just about covers every photo posted on pb..I think maybe it needs more info or narrowed down..just a thought :o

No landscapes, no portraits, no close up birds. Just people and animals living life. No abstracts, no digital, no photo art.

We have to notice what people and animals are doing. Catch them in the act.

I think this will be an interesting and fun contest.

you have two portraits as examples :)

Candid close ups, Cheryl. There is a difference. Both were done outside at events with crowds present. Not in studios with lighting. ;-)

ok , and you included that in the rules area..I hope people will read the rules :) I like my contest also, maybe we can get them both running at the same time. Should make the moderators real happy hehe

I think it's too broadly defined.

How should it define it more Larry. I agree, but am not sure how to define it more.

This is like normal PB, you can't define it more clearly, everything is "life"

Andy has a point. But I think it can be defined, it’s just that it’s different for everybody. For a contest you might want to specify some limited parameters and see how creative people can be at expressing their “life”. Kind of like giving a bunch of kids some finger paint and paper. :-)

I guess there is an echo in here :o

now tghis is an idea with the new title. It could be the opposite of my photochop contest, a contest capturing images of life that are UNEDITED. No PS or anything. There would be no way to track this, though, can we simply trust people on PB?

I'd thought of calling it Life in the Raw. But figured the idea would be confusing to George. LOL

Barb, I like very much the contest idea. Looking at the sample photos it is very clear what response you want to get. Now here is a question. How this would be different from journalism?
  19. Sergei Samus portfolio images by all images by comments by comments to (7/17/2005 1:48:58 PM)
maybe one condition that would put it apart from the pure journalism is that a photo should not need a story and should be self-explanatory?

Excellent idea Sergei. Also sport shots work if they tell are self explanatory in the action and interaction of others.

I made the changes, is it specific enough?

If I understand correctly, this motto should add: no sports, no events. Or am I wrong?
