detailsThis is how they prefer to eat when they want some privacy. They hide a precious piece of food between their wings and enjoy their 'table for one'. Dont ask me how I know it's her, I just assume it is :o).

Wow! Great shot! It must have been very difficult to get that photo expecially when the bats try to be on their own.
6 Ula   (4/29/2003 7:34:34 AM)

7 Claudia Robinson (looie's mom :-o)   (4/29/2003 8:16:20 AM)
What an unusual image. Quite interesting and good clarity.
8 CherylB (I only lie when I do not like your pic)   (4/29/2003 8:16:24 AM)
I love watching the bats fly at night. Did you shoot this through glass? I feel the fur is a little soft although a very good shot of something I would not see in nature.

Great shot, Sergei. I tried to photograph this cute animals myself, while in Paradisio, and my results are not half as good as this shot. The low light makes it quite difficult. Composition: 8 (maybe a tad bit too tight). Technique: 9. Originality: 9. Impact: 8. Overall: 8.5.

Bats flying around are kind of spooky. I'm not a fan of them, but you have given me a new perspective on them. This one is quite cute. I like the way she has the fruit tucked safely away. Take care. Barb.

Did you blur the background or produce it with your aperature setting? I love the colors and as Kay says, you even have eye gleam. Like CherylB, I love watching these guys come out at night in our area and gobble up the insects. It's an awesome sight.
24 Sergei Samus (Serega to friends)     (4/29/2003 3:31:04 PM)
Thank you very much.
#8 CherylB: not through the glass. Isn't the fur supposed to be soft Cheryl? :o)
#11 Brites dos Santos: sorry about what? :o)
#20 Vitor Dias: nice to see you back
#23 Amuletum: I took the shot with my 105/2.8 at f5 macro lens so the dof was very shallow

Great picture, DOF is exact to this picture, colors, definition and composition are excelent.
30 Trimmel   (5/2/2003 12:35:59 AM)
Just a curiosity, from where the light came?, I mean those animals are night creatures, with low activity during the day including eating.
31 Rene Asmussen   (5/5/2003 7:27:06 AM)
THis is excellent photography, just simply great !
32 Joe Bembnowski   (5/10/2003 12:21:02 PM)
I missed this one somehow. Your bat images are among my favorite here on PB. Much about this image has already been said. One thing I note and it may be just me is the background. A little too close in coloration to the bat. You may not have had any choice in the matter. Just wish it was a more neutral darker color to really seperate the bat from the background. Other than that one of your best in the series.
33 Vladimir Buryakov   (5/13/2003 3:23:04 AM)
Amusing supervision
