First, let me get this out of my system: Awwwwwwwwwwwww!
The background in those wonderful gold tones is such a surprise and the perfect foil to this lovely little creature. The detail couldn't be better from the cross-hatching on the membrane of the wings to each individual hair, to the eyes and anthropomorphic smile and those little toes on the hind leg! Great composition in the frame as well. What a big smile this one is!

Very good picture of a animal I do not like so much!!
The yellow background fits in very well.
Nice sharp detailes and color.

Very nice Sergi! We just don't see enough of these animals done. Very sharp and well presented. I applaud you in presenting to us a very unique subject. I think that you can't compose this any better than you did here.

Very good shot !!! (9)

Not something I get to see too often. The details, composition, and color are just super. Did I say I like the details. A minor nit is a tiny bit of blurring on some of the edges of the branch (especially by the right edge of the frame). Still a top notch shot. Thanx for sharing.

Very disorienting. I had to stand on my head to get a better look :-} Amazing creature, well presented.

Almost makes you want to cuddle it. I love the gold background - really sets the animal off.
14 Regina Lafay   (2/22/2003 1:50:30 AM)
Awesome detail and what a great subject! I wanna take that cutie home. :)

I gave this a 9 just before I posted my most recent photo, Sergei. You've really made this look attractive and cute with the excellent details, colors (ESPECIALLY the background color), composition, dof. If I had taken another look at it before I voted, I would have given you more than a 9, it's just so good. You've even got Roland's oft-mentioned eye gleam!!

thanks everybody for your comments and critique. Mark, following your suggestion I've corrected the blur bit and re-uploaded, and it indeed looks better now. Reidar, there is no reason not to like this particular species. It is a fruit eating one, very cute and friendly.

Sergei having viewed this after you made the corrections I find it beautiful. You've taken a bat, an ordinary bat, and turned it into a work of art. For some reason bats are in the mouse category for me. Creepy. But you've presented this so well I find myself enjoying the view!! If they all looked like this, I might change my feelings for them... Take care. Barb.

Sergei .. well done and it's amazing to me how dog-like its face appears. It's very unusual and very well photographed.
19 Vija   (2/23/2003 12:25:04 AM) have definitely captured the essence of this nature story as well as presented a wonderful portrait of this often misunderstood animal...the background is absolutely perfect, and brings much warmth to this cute creature...

Very well done!

I am just seeing these bat shots for the first time, Sergei.... this one looks like an acroBAT! (Glad I didn't miss it.)
