not bad....
may I suggest a black bg? (if that could be done at initial posting...)
what settings did you use Sergei?
2 gdanger (George Dangerfield)   (7/2/2006 5:38:33 PM)
A scene of true beauty Serega, wonderful light and so nicely composed, a wall hanger for sure!
3 terry1 (terry1 back again ??)   (7/2/2006 5:40:28 PM)
a beautiful capture, excellent colour in the sky and reflection, i like the mid ground, the twigs looka little over sharpened, bur overall a great image
4 Olivier Deme   (7/2/2006 5:43:07 PM)
What a nice way to return to PB! This is a really nice picture, Sergei. I've been very busy for the last year or so and I must admit I've been guilty of neglecting a little bit photography during all this time. I've kept an eye on PB though, and it is pictures like this one that made me want to return to PB's community. I must say that things have moved nicely since I left, not the least the emergence of new talented photographers. I still have to figure out how to use the new scoring system and the picture basket but I'm sure I'll manage.
It's good to be back!

#3 terry1(terry1 where is everyone): Thanks. Depends if you are using the magnification glass or not ;o)

#6 Sergei Samus(Serega to friends): how true sergei, we get carried away at times, sometimes it is good just to enjoy the image
10 Wim Lassche   (7/2/2006 5:54:07 PM)
Wonderful light, mood, composition and details, you prepacked it all in this beautiful picture!
11 Amuletum ( )   (7/2/2006 6:02:27 PM)
I love the gentle light on the foreground rocks. Beautiful comp as well. So pretty, Sergei.
12 Lockhart   (7/2/2006 6:09:05 PM)
When did you start taking lessons from docmm?
13 Sergei Samus (Serega to friends)     (7/2/2006 6:12:52 PM)
#9 terry1(terry1 where is everyone): I'll make sure it's ok when printed.
#10 Wim Lassche: thanks Wim.
#11 Amuletum(are YOU basket- worthy?): Thanks Debbie. Finland is very beautiful, but its beauty is so delicate and fragile that sound of the shutter almost always scares it away.
14 Sergei Samus (Serega to friends)     (7/2/2006 6:14:19 PM)
#12 Lockhart(Bill Lockhart): since she joined pb ;o)
15 Lockhart   (7/2/2006 6:20:44 PM)
#14 Sergei Samus(Serega to friends):

LOL. And I see you have learned as much from her as I have.

Seriously, an excellent landscape done in the great tradition. Excellent lead in in the foreground with natural colors and a composition that is balanced with good symmetry. Exposure is spot on, the highlights are in good control. In sum, excellence. Course that is what one would expect of you.

Best regards.
16 Sergei Samus (Serega to friends)     (7/2/2006 6:38:38 PM)
#15 Lockhart(Bill Lockhart): thanks Bill. We all learn from each other. I think there are still a few little nits that could have been avoided if I spent some more time on image processing. I'm sure Cheryl will find more than I can see ;o)
17 Roger Ranney (Don't block the shot)   (7/2/2006 7:23:41 PM)
The variable color and light is a treat for the eye. Sunsets are very common, but this is very uncommon.
18 Elisabeth   (7/2/2006 7:33:24 PM)
The thumbnail looks already great! What a beautiful view with fantastic light very well balanced!
19 Wayne Morgan (( ;-)   (7/2/2006 8:03:54 PM)
I think what I really like here is the dynamic range of colors. When I do shots like this I usually lose detail in the forground. Excellent work!
20 Lagernet (Lyle Gellner)   (7/2/2006 8:11:21 PM)
A fine photo indeed,,the colors are very reministant of Velvia film,,. Your sharp foregrond details really make this image speacial,,. Only nit I have is the over sharpening hot lines along some of the foreground rocks,,.
21 Lagernet (Lyle Gellner)   (7/2/2006 8:16:37 PM)

A beautiful landscape that catches all the wonderful light God gave use to wonder on. The reeds in the fg are almost arranged they ar so perfect in the composition and fine anchors to lock us right in there. Subtle tones of that golden light reflecting in the rocks aand water....not overly saturated which I admire and not at all oversharpened....just need to know what lens was used here if you please.
23 KAY (........ .......)   (7/2/2006 8:41:02 PM)
Beautifully presented with a strong fg and wonderful light...some fire in the sky too...
24 Lorraine54 (Don't worry be Happy and comment more)   (7/2/2006 8:48:22 PM)
Beautiful light and comp, I love the foreground grasses and how they are reflecting in the water.

31 ckldybr (A perfect photo is just a click away)   (7/2/2006 11:36:43 PM)
Serega, so good to see an image from you!! For me what makes this more than just a beautiful landscape is the green willows. They add another dimension to a beautiful scene. You've captured Mother nature at her finest. Take care. Barb.
32 Kenn Reay   (7/3/2006 6:46:30 AM)
Wonderful, everything comes together nicely. Like that slightly blurred area just in front of the grasses. A wonderful image. Kenn

Sergei: The lens please?
39 Dana Whitford   (7/3/2006 12:04:13 PM)
this is pretty good. the only thing i would have done differently would be to use a black baground and then maybe put a baby in it. oh yeah and lots of halos!but seriously i have alot of respect for these types of landscape shots because i have no idea how to make one. I also like how you controlled the quality of the horizon. Alot of pictures lose them due to overprocessing I think.

#36 Sergei Samus(Serega to friends):
Even it had imperfections would be an error to point then, because we could start a war with 'your' buddies.
PB should be about images, techs, photography...
This one is a fine image for my taste.
42 DPS (David Stevenson)   (7/3/2006 1:34:37 PM)
I really like the colours and the reflections. I also see noise above the trees (without the magnifier).

Would look better with Harvey in it :o)
43 Bill_D (William Donnelly)   (7/3/2006 8:13:45 PM)
so clear and so calm just let me sit there with a beer :)
