Lachlan, I think this one is the best I've seen from you. It creates great sense of movement that is empowered by a very dynamic angle of the sportsman and his bike. My only suggestion would be to get the object slightly off the center. Here is just one of many possible croppings. Great entry.

Very good control of camera here. Maybe not quite so cenetered but no biggie.

Ah! Flat track!! Yes! Good capture. Can't get the voting machine to work, but I'd give it a 9.

Lachlan, see what I told you... man, this photo is great. Technically, it's hard to find weaknesses... if there's any

Lachlan ... The suggested crop is meant to show the cyclist off center on a third point, and giving the impression of him moving into the picture. Please view with the black shutter for best effect. It also removes the upper portion to show just the beautiful pan effect with no distractions and to isolate the great coloring of the panned track that goes goes so well with the blue of the cycle and helmet. Good work, great pan effect. (8.4)

Thank you for the cropping suggestions, i have added here how i would have cropped it. Although due to a photo editor that bites my head off each time i crop an image, i have slowly learnt not to touch, just shoot scan full frame, and let him do the cropping. I also believe that seeing a full frame, gives alot more feel to the overall photo, it is easy to crop out some things, to give a photo the intended feel. Whereas with this image, the movement is visable, cropped or not cropped. I prefer to off center subjects off the lens, more so than by cropping, this is actually a lil harder to do whilst panning at the same time, but i enjoy that little challange. Lachlan Rex.

Lachlan I like this best with your cropping suggestion. I've tried to pan a couple of times, and have failed miserably. This is incredible. The detail on the motorcyclist is fabulous. Take care. Barb.

This is fantastic! Excellent motion and excellent freeze. Congratulations! Thank you for the settings. I would not have thought a fairly slow shutter would do such a good job of freezing the subject. (Think I will start slowing down my shutter for these shots!) I like Sergei's crop. I think I can vote now, I will try.

Fabulous! I would have given you a 10 had it been off center.
