title IRISH MOUNTAIN LAKE
date10/25/2007 12:15:28 AM
detailsAn idyllic serene place in the beautiful Irish mountains near Kenmare.
In Ireland I saw for the first time the unusual climatic phenomenon of the sudden successions between a completely cloudy sky and a glorious sun.
These unbelievable for me and extreme wheather changes can, in some cases, be repeated more than ten times during a day.

I admire how easily you pass from the portraits to landscapes and to other subjects. The light passing through the clouds creates a wonderful feeling. Best regards Elli.

beautiful scene Karolos! makes me want to visit too. I think the edit could be better and make a smoother looking photo. looks a tiny bit oversharp and contrasty especially here..I do love this wonderful scene though and I know you can take a critical comment.

Beautiful composition, perfect exposure and outstanding contrast between thr dramatic sky and the rocky hills around the lake. Impeccable light control. Congrats Karolos.

Beautiful, Karolos. I really like the way that you captured the light and colors here. We have similar weather conditions in the spring sometimes and the lighting is quite dramatic and almost surreal as your photo shows here so well.

Dark and brooding, the subdued colour and threatening skies over the calm water make this a winner for me.

27 Les McLean ((I don't do baskets) ))   (10/25/2007 5:45:17 PM)
Agree totally with Cheryl, the editing is way too heavy, Ireland is a soft pastellly place, not angry and aggressive.

Get your edit right and this image will work.

Nearly there

What a great shot!! The impact this shot has is outstanding!! But, I have a few things I would like to comment on.

Now, KAROLOS, do not get me wrong, I really like this photo but the cloud reflection right here, does not look right. IMHO, it looks like clouds, not a reflection.

The sky looks great, those clouds look so awesome, it is unreal. But with a sky like that, isn't there too much light from here- to here-. I mean, there is not one shadow on the landscape for all those clouds.

KAROLOS, I do not mean any disrespect. Right now, you are the top photographer on Photoblink in both the Blink score and the average score and I really look up to you. This was just my humble opinion, my intention was not to put your photo down.

Very nice light and place! A bit too dark for my taste, but the light is great. It adds texture to the rocks.

#27 Les McLean: Agree with Cheryl and Les McLean here!!!
You give your landscapes the same quite heavy treatment in ps as your portraits!!!
This is looking like brick on estomac actually!!!
Overwhelming view, though!!!
