detailsPhotographer's Remark
Bow Summit, the highest point (Ele. 7,000 ft) along the Icefields Parkway, Banff National Park. Peyto Lake (better known as Wolf's Head Lake) is considered the bluest lake in the Canadian Rockies. Evidently whoever made that statement never looked at the iridescent green which was typical of all the glacier fed lakes that I observed. Its iridescent color is due to the mineral fines suspended in the water and which is also too cold to support fish life.

Thanks for the background info. I've seen photos of this lake many times and have always wondered why it didn't produce a much of a reflection, it's clearly a natural wonder and a very good photo too. I like the spots of light casting themselves upon the landscape.
