Comment by Martynas - A magnificent portrait! And I have no problem with priest enjoying heavenly glass of whiskey and having a smoke, and a wife and 10 children. It would be much more normal on my mind, if they would just be allowed to be human, as is what they are. Kudos, James!

Comment by Hania - If a portrait presents a priest (does it?), I would like to add something to the discussion.
I never identified the priests as hypocritical degenerates although every rule has exceptions. My personal experience is different. Think that such a message, when trying to generalize, would be unfair.
From photographic point of view, in my opinion the picture is a masterpiece.

Comment by LindaY - I like your treatment of this, Yan. It gives the photo a timeless quality like a photo found in an old photo album.

Comment by Lorraine54 - Beautiful light to enhance this lovely view, the sky is so nice. I especially love this area here [^1274;477;1], I am still debating if I prefer with the right hand side cropped a little to take out these trees [^1814;491;1] .. so far yes is winning.. lol.. Congrats on a very nice image though.

Comment by Hazel4 - What a terrific shot, lighting, pose, drama - this has it all. Being clergy just makes this more wonderful - those little vices & he's doing em - cracks me up!

Comment by Mark Polis - This looks like you took another shot of her and used it as a bg monochrome layer, Bas.
Novel idea, but in this case I don't think the "reflection" is complimentary to this very pretty young lady with red hair and gorgeous blue/green eyes. Just my opinion.

Comment by Reinhard Becker - I would crop a lot to set the viewers focus to the face and to the person behind.
About the reflection: Is it the same person? Could be her mother (sorry if I´m wrong). So what do you want to say?

Comment by LindaY - Very well done photo and excellent social statement as well James. I love your use of lighting here because it draws the eye of the viewer to the most important elements that send your message loud and clear.

Comment by Reinhard Becker - A picture to think about...

Comment by Tim Pereira - #9 James Gordon: I agreed with you on organized religion. And I'm not looking at this shot and judging it on the smoking. This is really well done!

Comment by B2O - #2 Mark Polis: Your absolutely right if you want more attention to the dram Mark. It gives certainly a special kind of thinking towards the combination of the title Heavenly and a cigarette and a dram.
How heavenly is a dram and a cigarette....?
